HAZOP Training Course

Roger Casey has been providing HAZOP training courses in Ireland since 1999 both as public courses and on an in-house basis for clients. The standard HAZOP course is a 2-day intensive training course with detailed workshops. Course contents available on request. Courses can be tailored to client’s requirement. Shortened versions also available.

HAZOP Team Leaders Course

A 2-day course with detailed practical workshops. This course is designed as a follow on to the 2-Day HAZOP Course. The purpose of the course is to provide extra skills for delegates so that they will be adequately prepared to lead detailed HAZOP studies themselves. Delegates for the Team Leaders Course must have completed the above 2-Day HAZOP training course or similar. Personalised one to one training is also available for suitable personnel who have completed the 2- Day HAZOP course.

Electrostatic Hazards Training

A 6 hour course tailored for a practical understanding of electrostatic hazards for technical personnel. A 1½ hour course is also available for production operators. Practical demonstrations and case studies are included in both courses.

Chemical Reaction Hazards Training

This is a 6-hour training course that covers causes of reaction hazards, Mal-operations, Test methods, Selecting a basis of safety, Case studies. Introduction to pressure relief etc.

Fire, Flammability and Explosion Hazards

Fire and flammability characteristics, case studies, introduction to explosions in high hazard plant, introduction to electrostatics, dust explosion hazards.

Learning from Previous Major Accidents

This is a flexible ½ day course which reviews and allows attendees discuss a wide range of previous accidents so that lessons can be learnt. Clients themselves select the case studies they want to cover from a large database of accidents to illustrate particular topics, failures or major disasters.

ATEX Awareness Training

Layers Of Protection Analysis (LOPA)

LOPA is a simplified form of numerical risk assessment that uses order of magnitude calculations to estimate and evaluate risk. This course covers the LOPA technique and its practical application to the process industries. The course is supplemented by detailed LOPA workshops. The course is aimed at both personnel who may be asked to participate on a LOPA team, but also more experienced personnel who wish to perform LOPA calculations.

Process Safety Leadership

A 1-2 hour session for Senior Managers outlining their responsibilities in relation to process safety. Aimed at both Technical and non-Technical Managers. Includes case studies.

Auditor Training

Training auditors for safety management system and / or Seveso MAPP audits.

All courses can be modified to suit client’s particular requirements or to include plant specific examples. New courses can be developed to client’s requirements.
